"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 is currently on pause mode for the holiday airing break but the action will resume in 2014 with Episode 14 titled "Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra." The Entertainment Weekly spoiler report has executive producer Craig Thomas teasing about a big fight between couple Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) having a big fight.

In the HIMYM mid-season finale, Marshall finally arrived at the Farhampton Inn and rejoins the gang but there is an angry wife that he must face. Lily has been expressing in the previous episodes that she is not happy with Marshall keeping secrets from her. Executive producer Craig Thomas teased that Marshall and Lily's big fight will be indicative in the second half of "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 with some "twists and surprises."

Mr Thomas shared: "This season - especially the second half of it - is largely about showing where our characters will be heading in the future, so the debate of who will get to pursue their dream, Marshall or Lily, is a big one in determining their next life chapter. And it's such a real issue in any couple: Who's gonna get what they want and who's gonna sacrifice?. ... The way it plays out contains some pretty big twists and surprises."

The executive producer further assured that the CBS sitcom will deal with the issue sooner rather than later in the second half of the final season. Additionally, the 200th episode of "How I Met Your Mother" is fast approaching where the story focuses on "The Mother" as it covers eight years of her life.

Co-creator, writer and executive producer Carter Bays described the upcoming episode to be something really different and strange. "We were all fighting tears by the end of [the run-through] and that's a credit to Cristin [Milioti]. It's a new trick. We're showing a new trick in episode 200 that we never could have done in any other season. And to me, more than anything else, episode 200 is why we did season 9. If you were going to epitomize it in one 21-minute capsule, this is why we did season 9. And you'll see what I mean when you see it,"revealed Mr Bays in the MStars News report.

"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 will return on January 13, 2014 with Episode 14 titled "Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra" airing at 7 p.m. central time on the CBS network.
