'How to Train Your Dragon 3' Plot Details: Dean DeBlois Reveals Film Is 'Culmination Of Hiccup’s Coming Of Age'
“How to Train Your Dragon 3” director Dean DeBlois recently spoke about the film at the Visual Effects Society Awards. The director revealed some interesting details about the new instalment in the franchise. He said that “How to Train Your Dragon 3,” is the final film in the series. He also added that the story of the last film will go back to where Cressida Cowell’s book begin.
“[Dragon 3 is] the culmination of Hiccup’s coming of age. Both he and Toothless are now chiefs of their respective tribes, and it’s a dueling story where you have both characters trying to do what’s right for their kind, and an eventual outcome where Hiccup is able to stand on his own,” he added, reports Collider.
The director also hinted that Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III will be shown as an adult in the film and he will remember the times when dragons existed. The main story of the film could possibly revolve around the returning of dragon, reported the website. It has also been reported that Drago Bludvist, an evil warlord and dragon hunter will have a bigger role in the third instalment. The complexities of the character will reportedly be brought into the limelight.
The shooting of “How to Train Your Dragon 3” is yet to start. Dean is currently finalising the script of the film. He revealed at the award function that he has written half of the script and will soon complete it. Jay Baruchel will return as the voice of Hicuup. The rest of the cast are yet not confirmed. It is also rumoured that Guillermo del Toro will give the voice for the new villain in the movie, according to IMBD.
“How to Train Your Dragon” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” had a roaring success at box office. It is expected that the third instalment will prove as successful. The movie is scheduled to be released June 29, 2018.
