HP Launches 11-Inch 360-Degrees Fold-Back Hybrid Laptop To Face Apple’s 12-Inch MacBook
HP has just launched a new line of colorful hybrid laptops in time for school. The Pavilion x360, a collection of laptops that are of the fold-back variety, is available in two size variations, namely the 11-inch and the 13-inch models.
According to CNET, almost all of the products that HP had announced on April 22 were readily made with either Intel or AMD processors, touch or non-touch versions, and 1366 x 768 HD or 1920 x 1080 Full HD displays.
Plus, majority of the newly released devices will be priced at around $500. Its relatively affordable price paired with the fact that it is a hybrid device makes it a perfect laptop choice for students who are on a tight budget.
The 11-inch variant will be priced at $410, which Engadget has reported is almost $100 less than the price of a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, excluding the latter’s detachable keyboard, which is priced at an added $130.
The 11-inch version is believed to be at par with the 12-inch MacBook from Apple, especially with its new Intel Core M processors. A key advantage about this particular feature is that it has a fanless design that the tech company highly boasts of.
The device, which comes in green, silver, purple, and red, has a low resolution touch screen with its 1366 x 768 display panel. Fortunately, to compensate for the low resolution, its memory can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM, as well as by adding a 128 GB SSD.
Although the screen does not completely detach from the body of the device, what makes it unique from other fold-back hybrids is that its screen can be folded back 360 degrees. This allows its user to fold the chassis, transforming it into a tablet but not having to compromise its basic clam-like form.
Those who would much rather avail of cheaper, non-hybrid laptops can purchase the HP Probook 255 G3 for only $308.46. According to Tech Radar, one of the major factors that make it a more affordable choice is its Ubuntu 15.04 Linux OS from Canonical, instead of Microsoft's Windows 8.1.
