HTC Desire 820s With 5.5-Inch Display, Dual-SIM And 64-Bit Processor Collects 1.26 Million Pre-Registrations
HTC's latest smartphone Desire 820s has garnered a total of 1.26 million pre-registrations thus far, according to Focus Taiwan. Reportedly, HTC China says the registrations are stacking up at a steadfast way.
Even though, the pre-order signup is free of charge and it does not guarantee a purchase, the number of registrations in China cannot be overlooked. Notably, from the time the device was announced, the HTC Desire 820s has been gathering more attention from across the globe. In spite of the outstanding interest, HTC has stated that a total of only 50,000 Desire 820s units can be purchased at the start of the online sale, according to GSM Arena.
It is worth noting that, the first 5,000 customers will be given a discount of CNY 400, which roughly translates to US$65. The original price of the HTC Desire 820s is CNY 1,799 (i.e. US$293) and after discount, the handset will set the buyers back by US$228-equivalent.
As far as the key specifications go, the HTC Desire 820s features a 5.5-inch display and 720p screen resolution. The handset is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 chipset, which reportedly performance better than the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor seen in the sibling HTC Desire 820. Moreover, the device is backed by a good 2 GB of RAM and it comes equipped with 16 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card slot for expansion. There is also a 13 MP rear-facing camera unit and a surprisingly good 8 MP shooter at the front for capturing killer selfies.
Notably, this device supports Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity options. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC's Sense 6 UI on top of it. Furthermore, the handset features dual front-facing speakers, HTC BoomSound and HTC Blink Feed. Speaking of battery, the device is powered by a Li-Po 2,600 mAh battery unit, under the hood. Meanwhile, Fone Arena reports that, this HTC handset comes with dual nano-SIM support.
In case, the pre-registrations translate to customers buying the product, HTC can dream of a relatively better Q4 2014 results. In the hindsight, HTC managed to showcase a small profit in the last quarter results. Hence, the pre-registration news gives HTC a reason to look up to the sales of HTC Desire 820s, says GSM Arena.
