HTC One A9 was announced on Oct. 20 and has now gone on sale. It's been listed by online retailers and UK-based wireless carrier, Vodafone.

Vodafone UK has listed the HTC One A9 on a Pay Monthly package and put it up for pre-order. The carrier has announced postpaid plans that come with a 24-month contract. Monthly plans start at £35 (AU$75).

To avail the minimum plan, users have make an upfront payment of just £9 (AU$20). The plan comes with a 1,000 minutes of calls along with 1 GB of LTE data and unlimited texts. With £40 (AU$85), users can enjoy 2 GB of data with unlimited talk and texts.

The device can also be purchased from Carphone Warehouse and prominent online retailers including Clove, Buy Mobiles, Mobile Fun and Mobile Phones Direct, reports PC Advisor. Initially two colours will be available, Carbon Grey and Opal Silver, which will be followed by Deep Garnet and Topaz Gold.

Carphone Warehouses retails the Grey and Silver variants of the phone. The SIM-free offer comes with a price tag of £469.99 (AU$1001).

Mobile Phones Direct lists the SIM-free smartphone at £419 (AU$893). The website also offers a 24-month contract where the users have to shell out £32.49 (AU$69) per month with an upfront payment of £12.99 (AU$28).

In terms of specs, the HTC One A9 comes with a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display screen; an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor that incorporates a 64-bit CPU with eight Cortex-A53 cores. Out of which four cores are clocked at 1.5GHz cores and another four cores have a frequency of 1.2GHz.

According to Android Headlines, the device sports 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage options that can be extended up to 2TB via microSD card slot. It has a 13 MP main camera sensor made by Sony with optical image stabilisation and dual-tone LED flash along with a 4MP front camera. The smartphone will be shipped with 2,150 mAh Li-Ion battery and Android 6.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box with HTC’s Sense UI.

In the meantime, HTC released a full length commercial (shown below) saying – Be Bold, Be Brilliant, Be Different. The phone has long been blamed for looking exactly like Apple’s iPhone 6.
