HTC One A9 is the 'iPhone running on Android'
HTC's One A9 was the subject of many previous online speculations. Now that the device is officially being debuted into the tech market, it would seem that the specs that were leaked were mostly accurate. With the device's design, the new smartphone has been regarded as the "iPhone running on Android."
The handset's design is pretty similar with that of Apple's iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Tech Times even mentioned that HTC One A9 seems to be the middle child between the Cupertino-based tech giant's current flagships - the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus.
The unit boasts a 5-inch 1,080p screen display, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard storage. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC. With regards to its camera features, it has a 13 Ultrapixel primary snapper on its rear and a 5 megapixel selfie shooter on its front.
HTC even claimed that the One A9 can easily replace the One M9 as its new flagship device. The One M9 features a Snapdragon 810 processor and is considered to be a premium handset. That said, many consumers have questioned the company's claims that this new model can take over a highly rated premium model. However, it is worth noting that One A9 does seem to be a unit with solid features, given its specs.
Although it is quite surprising for a mid-range smartphone to be compared with Apple's premium flagship device, the One A9 does sport bigger dimensions than the iPhone 6S. Both, however, weigh in at 143 grams, which is primarily due to the lightweight, aluminium material that makes up their chassis.
Phone Arena confirmed that the One A9 boasts a metal built that features a dual tone finish. The device sports a charming design with its brushed aluminium casing that has polished edges.
