HTC One M9 Plus Release Date Likely In Q2: Handset Will Be Called As ‘HTC One M9+’ And Could Feature Fingerprint Scanner
The buzz around the flagship HTC One M9 has finally come down and the tech world has turned its attention to the bigger sibling the “HTC One M9 Plus.” It is worth noting that, this is apparently the same device that was once referred as the HTC Hima Ultra. A new leak corroborates that the upcoming device will be called as “HTC One M9+” and it also gives away some key details about the device.
Recently, a slew of HTC One M9 Plus images leaked online giving a good glimpse of the incredible handset. In addition to the leaked images, the handset has apparently visited benchmark testing sites as well. According to the credible tipster @UPleaks, this phone will also be made available in the EMEA region i.e. Europe, Middle East and Africa. Speaking of the HTC One M9 Plus release date, according to the initial plan, the device should hit the store shelves by Q1 2015. However, there’s only ten days left in March, therefore, the handset could be launched in Q2, notes GSM Arena.
Moving on to the rumoured HTC One M9 Plus specifications, the smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch display with a QHD screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset will apparently be powered by either a MediaTek MT6795 SoC or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. GSM Arena says, the MediaTek SoC will be part of the model specific to China, while the Qualcomm processor will be housed in the international variants. In any case, there’s no confirmation on the processor yet.
When it comes to memory, the HTC One M9 Plus will apparently come backed by a good 3 GB of RAM configuration and will be equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity. Adding a cherry on top, the device is believed to house a Fingerprint scanner, unlike the flagship One M9. In any case, readers should note that, the tech giant has not confirmed the HTC One M9 Plus specifications or release date thus far.
On the other hand, HTC US has reportedly announced a new program dubbed the “Uh-Oh protection.” HTC will apparently replace the purchased flagship phone HTC One M9, in case the handset becomes unusable due to one of the three reasons i.e. cracked screen, water damage and carrier switch. And notably, this assurance is given to the handset owners covering only the first 12 months from the time of purchase. However, there is no information available to ascertain if this program applies to the upcoming HTC One M9+ as well.
