It has not been long that Huawei launched the Honor 7. Now the company is said to be working on its next-gen Huawei smartphone. New images surfaced of a new Honor phone with model number ATH-AL00 from Huawei.

Chinese regulation website TENNA certified a new Huawei device which showcases an interesting feature – a sliding camera module. It is apparent from the images that the smartphone will host a front-facing camera above the display. As revealed by the leaked images, the sliding assembly will house both the rear and front camera modules. It also hosts the dual-LED flash modules for both the camera units on the sliding mechanism itself, which means images captured in low-light conditions would remain high quality.

Users can readily use the rear camera. But to use the front camera the user needs to slide the assembly upwards. Huawei has provided a dedicated button to make things easier. A button located on the left side of the device will help to slide the camera assembly, reports GSM Arena .

With this innovative system Huawei, will be able to reduce the top bezel and incorporate a stronger flash for selfies. According to a report on Digit , the release button of the sliding camera may also feature an embedded fingerprint scanner.

This innovative approach will help to keep the front display free of a camera unit until the user wishes to use it. The device looks like the recently launched Honor 7. However, the images do not provide any further details. It is being speculated that the new Honor series would come with up to 4GB of RAM, dual-SIM functionality and will be powered by Huawei’s proprietary Kirin processor.
