Actor Ian Somerhalder has been dominating the TV screen as heartthrob vampire Damon Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" and he is expected to do so in the comic book world too. The "Fame: Ian Somerhalder" comic book is scheduled to be released in print and digital media this week features the 34-year-old actor in an animated version.

According to the Zap 2 It report, Bluewater Productions published the comic book focusing on Ian Somerhalder's life story. It will include the characters he portrayed in other TV series like Adam Knight in "Smallville" and Boone Carlyle in "Lost" before reaching full stardom as Damon Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" as well as his work and dedication for environmental issues and animal rights.

Michael L. Frizell wrote the 32-paged "Fame: Ian Somerhalder" comic book with Manuel Diaz supplying art while artist Nelson Hernandez did the cover, as shown in the Socialite Life report. "I'll always have a fondness for this book because 'Fame: Ian Somerhalder' was the first script I wrote for Bluewater," Mr Frizell shared.

The author further revealed that even though he has never watched "The Vampire Diaries" or he only knew little information on Ian Somerhalder, he still felt a real connection towards the actor after finding out about all of the environmental work that the actor did.

"I feel like I understand him, and his passion for environmentalism in the wake of hurricane Katrina. Add to this issue the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the devastation that followed and you just feel compelled to do something...anything. I admire Mr. Somerhalder's efforts," Mr Frizell explained.

Then, he teased: "Although if I can be totally shallow for a second, I am obsessed with those artistically drawn comic book abs." In the mean time, Ian Somerhalder is busy in juggling his busy schedule of environmental work, filming TVD episodes and even asking his followers for votes in the 2014 People's Choice Awards.

Ian made the request via Twitter on Wednesday, November 20, with the objective of taking home the awards of "Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor," "Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show" for "The Vampire Diaries" and "Favorite On-Screen Chemistry" with ex-girlfriend and co-star Nina Dobrev.

The actor posted in his Twitter account @iansomerhalder: "I cant thank you ENOUHG FOR VOTING.You all are so supportive&Im grateful-These awards are for YOU!IF ucan VOTE VOTE!! http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/vote/votenow.jsp ..."
