iOS 9 Public Beta OTA Update Now Available For iPhone And iPad, Find Out How To Install It
Apple has released the iOS 9 public beta for compatible iDevices. On July 8, the company released the third iOS 9 beta for registered developers and it now has rolled out a public beta version.
Phone Arena reports first that Apple has rolled out a public beta edition for any of its operating systems. To try the new iOS 9 public beta, iDevice owners are required to visit Apple beta program website and register with an Apple ID.
It will prompt applicants to enroll the name of the iDevice on which the iOS 9 public beta needs to be installed. The process does not require users to connect the iPhone or iPad to a computer as the beta version can be availed through an OTA update
Users who wish to install the update should quickly avail the update as the Cupertino, Washington-based company has allowed limited number of people to use the beta software in the past. The size of the update is 213 MB. If the iPhone or iPad does not have sufficient space on the storage to install the update, it will prompt the user to delete some apps in order to free space for the installation, Wired reported.
Before installing the iOS 9 public beta, one needs to be aware of the fact it is not the final version of the iOS 9 and is bound to contain lots of bugs and flaws. It can even result in loss of data or bricking of the device. Hence, users are suggested to install the beta at their own discretion.
It is recommended to backup the data on the iPhone or iPad before installing the new update. Apple also suggests iDevice owners to install the iOS 9 public beta on a secondary device to avoid any problem.
The unfinished iOS 9 beta for public is an enhanced version of the iOS 8 and it comes with couple of new features. It comes with a significantly improved version of Siri. The iOS 9 includes newer versions of apps like Apple News and Photos. The Apple Music app now supports high-quality streaming music through mobile data.
