Apple is on a roll with the additions to its iOS gaming list as newly released and announced upcoming games have been revealed this week, starting with the mobile version of the prequel to Rockstar Games' successful "GTA 5."

'GTA: San Andreas'

Those who have been playing "Grand Theft Auto" for a long time would know "GTA: San Andreas," and this time, gamers get a refresher of the 90s hit game together with CJ and the Grove Street Families as it rolls out on mobile devices come December.

Gamers can expect better and richer graphics, enhanced characters and improved models, which makes this a really good update of the franchise.

According to Rockstar Games, there are new touch controls, different control schemes for driving and even an improved checkpoint system for progresses. For maximum enjoyment of the app, the developer has also included full controller support for those who will start using the iOS controller on iOS 7.

'Assassin's Creed: Pirates'

On Dec 5, another "Assassin's Creed" game is coming out---though this time, it's for the iOS and Android. Titled "Assassin's Creed: Pirates," this time it will put you in the shoes of Alonzo Batilla engaged in naval combat.

IGN reports that the crew and ship are customisable, and gamers can play real-time naval battles all for the price of $4.99.

'Doctor Who: The Legacy'

Followers of "Doctor Who" have this new free-to-play game coming out soon on the iOS and Android to look out for.

Coming out on Nov 27, "Doctor Who: The Legacy" features matching puzzles where the players also have the chance to create their own team from characters in the show, reports CVG.

Since "Doctor Who" has been ongoing since the 1960s, the game will first begin with the two latest seasons, with Season 5 planned as a free add-on come early 2014. Creators BBC, Tiny Rebel Games and Seed Studio have already discussed the future of the franchise, wherein the game will trace back through the 50 years of the doctor's adventure, though there has been no word on the pricing for the succeeding add-ons.

'Tiny Death Star'

Now considered as part of the "Star Wars" franchise, from LucasArts comes "Tiny Death Star" that takes a gamer through the life of the Emperor as he aims to build the Death Star. This game also gives gamers a taste of how it's like to live on the dark side---and how to go on missions that require them to run the empire in various ways.

While this isn't a game that lets gamers run amok with violence battling good, it does give them a glimpse of how it's like to make decisions and act like someone from the dark side of "Star Wars." Gamers have to build the largest Death Star, hire unique species and give them their dream jobs, build underground imperial levels, capture rebels and unlock some story moments and scenes featuring favorite Star Wars characters.
