iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 to be Released Along With iPhone 5S?
A marketing extravaganza it would be if Apple tablets iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 will be released along with iPhone 5S.
Several reports suggest that the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 will be released in August or September along with the latest version of the Apple tablet to have the usual marketing blitz that the company needs to boost more sales.
Other tech websites are suggesting the iPad Mini 2 will release not long after the iPad 5 in August or September, but with two months to go before the WWDC, no final confirmations have yet to surface.
Apple could hold the best WWDC event in September of all time if they announce the iPad 5, Mini 2, iPhone 5S and the plastic budget iPhone on the same day. This would raise a few eyebrows; and be one of the best years for Apple releases.
Others say that the iPad 5 will release before the iPhone 5S, but as usual we have to take the rumors on the chin and wait for the official announcements from Apple.
Latest reports claimed that Apple has finalized the specs and features of the upcoming iPad 5 for mass production of the tablet.
iPad 5 is reportedly to commence production in August for its supposed September/October launch. Based from previous releases, Apple announces new products several weeks ahead of a release.
Last year, 4th Gen iPad and iPad Mini were released in October, which is in time for Christmas and holiday shopping the company is likely to mirror 2013 with the iPad 5.
According to Mobile China Union, Apple is preparing the iPad 5 production to start in August, reaching volume production. This would allow Apple to shift the iPad 5 release date around without major gaps in inventory associated with a new iPad release. This report does not include any iPad 5 specs, but another leak sheds some light.
This is in line with the chatter from Apple suppliers regarding better iPad 5 battery, a September launch and suppliers that are ready to deliver enough components to meet projected iPad 5 release day demands. This set of rumours comes from DigiTimes which shares supply chain chatter and gossip. While the publication is not always spot on, it does deliver a fast track to insider news and this rumour lines up with others.
The company's tablet iPad Mini 2 is speculated to come with Retina Display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Other specs include a more powerful dual core A7 processor and a 7.9 inch screen. It will also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. Apple is also trying to reduce the thickness of the iPad Mini 2 by using the Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its screens.
The iPad 5, on the other hand, is rumoured to have no bezels, and the whole form factor has been made sleeker. Horowitz believes this design indicates that Apple will be calling on Sharp's IGZO screen technology. Sharp, however, according to Horowitz, has been struggling, and its ability to deliver components on time will play a key role in the release of the next iPad.
However, Apple is tight-lipped when it comes to the rumours surrounding its devices.
