iPad Air 3: 6 new features to expect from iPad Air 2 successor
The Apple iPad Air 3 is currently still kept under wraps, but the rumour mill claims that it will be unleashed on March 15 alongside a 4-inch iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5se. The tablet is expected to hit the market by March 18, Apple Insider reported.
The iPad Air 2 was released in October 2014, but Apple did not release a new iPad model in 2015. The Cupertino company is now heavily pegged to reveal the iPad Air 2's successor as early as next month, which is expected to arrive with several new features.
Here are six new specs and features we may expect on the iPad Air 3:
1 | LED Flash for Rear Camera
All the iPad models that have launched in the past do not feature an LED flash for the main camera. The iPad Air 3 is expected to arrive with a dedicated LED flash, which will be placed below the rear camera.
2 | Four Speakers
Previous models of the iPad featured two sets of speakers. However, the iPad Air 3 is slated to arrive with four speakers that will deliver stunning stereo sound output. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro that was released in the last quarter of 2015 also features quad speakers.
3 | Smart Connector
A Smart Connector feature will be available on the chassis of the upcoming iPad. It is a physical connector that will allow users to connect a Smart Keyboard from Apple or from a third-party manufacturer, Engadget reported
4 | Apple Pencil
The Apple Pencil stylus was introduced as an optional accessory for the iPad Pro. It is a pressure-sensitive stylus that is priced at AU$165, and is expected to be supported by the upcoming iPad Air 3.
5 | Upgraded Specs
A report from Bloomberg has revealed that the Apple iPad Air 3 will feature Apple A9X and 4 GB of RAM. The same SoC and RAM are present under the hood of the iPad Pro.
6 | Rose Gold
Apple had introduced a new colour option, Rose Gold, for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus last year. Speculations are rife that the iPad Air 3 will also be availalbe in Rose Gold.
