iPhone 5s with New Retina+ Sharp IGZO 1080p HD Energy Efficient and Better Touch Responsive Display Screen
The upcoming iPhone 5s is now in works to include a Super High Definition 1080p, Retina+ IGZO screen display with twice as much as pixel compared to the previous generation.
Super HD 1080p Display Resolution
Due to the competition of smartphones in terms of screen display and resolution from the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, Apple may have felt the need to improve its own resolution for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6.
Retina display would still be included to the iPhone 5s except under a higher resolution than the previous generation. Apple is planning to make Retina+ 1080p HD display resolution for the iPhone 5s which will also support upcoming iOS devices having larger screens on 2014.
Retina+ IGZO Display
Indium gallium zinc oxide or IGZO is a semiconducting material developed by Sharp Corporation and Semiconductor Energy Laboratories that replaces amorphous silicon on LCD screen. It possesses forty times higher electron mobility which allows either smaller pixels or high reaction speed for the screen.
Apple and Sharp have been rumoured to be working together to implement IGZO technology on the iPhone. Once IGZO technology is added to the current screen of the iPhone 5 that will allow Apple to make 1080p HD screen on the upcoming iPhone 5s.
IGZO technology not only levels up the iPhone screen to HD but also deliver the 2-in-1 feature - energy efficiency with better responsiveness to touch.
Retina+ IGZO HD display and Twice as Much Pixel than Ever
Double the amount of pixel count on the iPhone 5 to 1.5 million pixels would be a challenge for Apple. Sources are pointing out that the company is doing a major screen upgrade on the iPhone 5s to allow utilising twice as much pixel than the previous generation.
Rumours are gathering about new screen technologies Apple will impart to both iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 - Retina+, IGZO screen technology and 1.5 million pixels. If Apple combines all three elements, it is not impossible to create both 4.5-inch and 5.0-inch iPhone soon.
Another design aspect for the screen is the near-zero bezel of the iPhone 5s. It will give more space for the display, visually larger than before and elegance compared to any iPhone ever released, which would be the most powerful iPhone to match Android phones from Samsung, HTC, Sony and LG.
