Whether fans are expecting groundbreaking technology for the iPhone 6 or perhaps there are those who just want to put out possible ideas for next year's touted Apple flagship smartphone, but the news of one specific feature keeps on popping up.

In a new concept video, the 3D feature for the iPhone 6 is, again, touted and displayed. This time, the 3D aspect is focused on the camera, with specs being begged at an 8 megapixel 3D camera.

As far as shockingly new features are concerned, a 3D camera would indeed be a niche that Apple can own, but it may not be something that is, of yet, usable for its consumers. If anything, Phones Review reports that this may be more of a gimmick than a functional addition.

Nevertheless, there are ways by which this can be of use, and better yet, technological advancements have recently included 3D hologram communication devices--or at least their prototypes and base architecture.

Even in gaming, the trend of virtual reality, the closest gaming can come 3D life, is becoming apparent. It may only be a matter of time until the smartphone catches on.

iPhone 5S release date near?

What can you deduce from an announcement of a retailer planning to offer a discounted price for not just the iPhone 5 but also the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4models?

Venture Beat reports that this may be a nod to a well-prepared greeting for the iPhone 5S. The sale, which begins Sunday and tagged to last for a month, will take $50 off the three models.

But it does not end there. If you think that a sale on the previous models is not a clue, then how about a sale for older Samsung and HTC models, including the recently released Samsung Galaxy S4?

True, this may be a marketing technique to move units off the shelves, but the timing of the sales could not be any more of a non-coincidence, considering that June was said to be the mass production of the phones and August already pegged as the start of shipping to the market.

Venture Beat adds that the latest word from analyst Brian White from Topeka Capital Markets suggest that a July shipping for the iPhone 5S is not far off.

iPhone Mini gets colored, iPhone 6 gets high-end treatment

It seems like minimalist colors signify a more refined taste, while colored variations highlight the more low-cost, at least in Apple's view.

Though last week capped off with news of the iPhone 6 getting colored variations, it seems that this bit of news is aimed at the rumored low-cost Apple phone, the iPhone Mini.

The Inquisitr reports that the cheaper version will likely get a huge range of color choices, including gold-orange, navy, pink, and yellow-orange, while the black and white variations will stay with the two other upcoming phones, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6.

Aside from this, there has also been progressive news regarding the iOS 7, this time touted to come to the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 as "black, white, and flat."

It seems that the new OS will transform Apple's interface as fans know it, this time with the apps redesigned to be black and white for uniformity. Even the lock screen is rumored to change to black buttons. It seems that this look came from the senior vice president of industrial design, Jony Ive, and will be delivered to both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6, and succeeding phones here on.

This can mean two things for Apple; that the redesign will find a new following or customers will take advantage of the sale for the older iterations.
