From the way smartphone releases have been coming in left and right, as well as sales of the recently launched and released phones going up, it seems that Apple has been having a very slow half year for 2013

In fact, when it comes to the announcements of the phones, Apple has not even officially announced its next phone yet, whether it will be the iPhone 5S, which has been rumored for a release this fall, or if it will actually be the iPhone 6 as the flagship for 2013.

While more Apple fans are looking forward to the next WWDC in June, where Apple will supposedly finally make a statement, rumors are still going on about potential specs to be expected

Capping off this week is the report of the iPhone 6 having an upgraded A7 ARM Cortex processor and a 2GB RAM, reports NVO News.

Considering that the iPhone 5 currently sports a dual-core A6 processor, analysts expect for the company to give the iPhone 5S, expected to be a refresh phone, at least the quad-core Apple A7 ARM Cortex replacement, in order to stay in the game.

After all, the Apple iPhone that will be released this fall is expected to be the year's flagship phone so whether or not it is the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6, an improved processor is pegged to be one of the mandatories.

iPhone 5S goes beyond black and white

Most of the rumors about the upcoming iPhone 5S is slated to have more than just the basic colors that have come out for the previous iterations, meaning the black and white colors.

This time, CNet reports that there has been talk about an array of colored iPhone 5S as well as an upcoming low-budget iPhone will feature candy colors to include pink, green, gold, and more.

The rumor could be following Apple's trend in its iPod Touch, which already features a wide array of colors. If the iPhone wants to battle it out with Nokia's Lumia series, which usually comes in several bright colors, it won't be a surprise that it would want to experiment with the iPhone 5S before it launches the iPhone 6.

If indeed, the multi-colored selection is available and becomes a hit, this may also affect the design for next year's Apple flagship smartphone. Another train of thought here is that the multi-color set-up can be made for the low-budget phone which is rumored to have a plastic shell.

This would be easier to make, and one that could easily go head-to-head with Nokia's low-cost phones, like the Asha 210.

Apple Insider also adds that the mass production of the budget iPhone may even happen as early as between July and September this year, supposedly after a trial period.

iPhone 5S design: The latest talk

As for the design of the iPhone 5S, it seems that there are a few changes and additions to it.

While rumor has it that the iPhone 5S's body will largely be the same as its predecessor, the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S is now said to ave a dual-LED flash and a rear microphone hole instead of the standard pill-shaped in the iPhone 5, reports Mac Rumors.

The placement of the microphone is also going to move, this time coming between the camera and the flash. Hopefully, the dual flash will ship this time around, unlike what had happened with the two-generations-ago iteration, the iPhone 4S.
