With new hardware component suppliers on board, upcoming Apple iPhone 6 on release date will reportedly house a 13 MP Sony Exmor IMX220 camera unit and 1810 mAh battery unit, according to reports.

Going by the reports from a Chinese forum named Digi-Wo (picked up by GforGames), the camera unit from Sony packs a 13 MP rear-facing camera with 1/2.3'' sensor and 1080p video recording capability. It is worth noting that the iPhone 5S comes with only an 8 MP primary camera unit.

Earlier rumours indicated that the upcoming iPhone 6 will house the same 8 MP sensor but the camera software will go through some much-required enhancements, this includes optical image stabilization (OIS) to get quality, crystal clear images.

In addition to new camera specification, a fresh leak of the alleged battery unit of the 4.7-inches iPhone 6 was spotted by the credible tipster Nowhereelse.fr (picked up by MacRumors). The picture shows the upcoming iPhone 6 will house a battery with capacity of 1,810 mAh.

Notably, the iPhone 5S comes equipped with 1,560 mAh battery unit. Hence the 1,810 mAh of iPhone 6 is only a minimal improvement. However, this is in line with the previous report that suggested that the 4.7-inches iPhone 6 would feature a battery unit with capacity between 1,800 and 1,900 mAh. The same report also suggested that the 5.5-inches iPhone 6 model will come with a 2,500 mAh battery unit.

In comparison to the current top-sellers, Apple will be at a huge disadvantage with respect to battery specification. Check out the following list of battery units against the flagship counterparts that are ruling the market right now.

SmartphoneBattery Unit
Samsung Galaxy S52800 mAh
Sony Xperia Z23200 mAh
HTC One M82600 mAh
LG G33000 mAh
Nexus 52300 mAh
Moto X2200 mAh
OnePlus One3100 mAh

Even though the reported iPhone 6 battery specification is nowhere close to the best sellers, Apple's killer under the hood performance could help get better battery life out of the device. As MacRumors rightly pointed out, the latest Apple iOS 8 could have the answer to the battery problems. Interested readers can check out the leaked images of iPhone 6 battery unit.

What do you think of the battery specification? Will this be good enough for Apple fans? Feel free to leave a comment.
