The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are expected as the next generation iPhones that are going to release this year. Like every year, even the iPad Air 2 that was released year in October is expected to be replaced by the successor model, the iPad Air 3.

TSMC and Samsung are the two major companies that are going to build the processors for the upcoming iPhone and iPad. Fresh news coming from Barron’s Asia reveals that among the two, TSMC is going to build 70 percent of the processor requirements for next generation iPhone and iPad. The remaining processor requirements will be manufactured by Samsung.

Even though Apple has not confirmed it, it has now become evident that the iPhone 6S will be powered by the Apple A9 processor whereas the iPad Air 3 will come with A9X chip under its hood. According to Fool.com, the A9 chip will be a dual core processor that will be built with 14 nm or 16 nm manufacturing technology.

It is only because of the excellence of TSMC in mass-production of processors, it has been chosen by Apple to manufacture the majority of processors for the next generation iPhones and iPads, reports Barron’s Asia. G for Games claims that Apple’s decision to choose TSMC over Samsung for mass production of chips makes sense because the South Korean tech giant also needs to build more chips for its forthcoming devices. Apple has not released any official information on as to which company will manufacture the chips for its upcoming iDevices.

The iPhone 6S release date is rumoured to occur in September this year. Since the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have broken all the previous iPhone sales record, there is a huge demand for the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus even though both the devices have not been announced by Apple yet.

The mass production for the hardware components of the iPhone 6S is expected to being by June this year. The iPhone 6S is expected to come with features like iOS 9, Apple SIM, 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM, states the recent International Business Times report.
