'Iron Man 4' News: Actor Robert Downey Jr. Confirms Return As Tony Stark On The Ellen DeGeneres Show [WATCH VIDEO]
"Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. made a huge and exciting revelation during his guest appearance at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The 49-year-old actor confirmed to host Ellen DeGeneres that the fans can see more of the Marvel superhero character Tony Stark/Iron Man because there will be an "Iron Man 4 film."
The TV talk show shared on YouTube a video of Ellen's interview with "The Judge" actor. "Will there be a fourth Iron Man?" DeGeneres asked.
Robert Downey Jr. responded by explaining that there will be a bunch of Marvel movies first where there are big ideas on how to do the upcoming films best. "You know we're in the middle of negotiation, blah blah blah," the actor stated.
Then, Ellen DeGeneres further prompted the actor for a more concrete response. "So, yes?" Ellen asked and Robert Downey Jr. finally gave in and said "OK, yes!" Have a look at the video of RDJ's interview with Ellen DeGeneres regarding "Iron Man 4" below.
According to an E!Online report, Robert Downey Jr. has clarified as well the reports claiming that he will only agree to do "Iron Man 4" if his friend Mel Gibson directs the film. In a Deadline interview, the actor was asked about the idea of starring in "Iron Man 4" if Mel Gibson sits on the director's chair.
"Correct...Why not? That movie would be bananas," RDJ responded. With that, several reports have interpreted that the actor's comment meant he will only do "Iron Man 4" with Mel Gibson as the director.
However, Robert Downey Jr. made it clear in a Reddit AMA on Tuesday that his response to the question was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend. "I have other projects in mind for Mel and I - sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered," the actor stated.
Meanwhile, a Comic Book report on RDJ's "Iron Man 4" revelation speculates the release date of the fourth "Iron Man" film could be between the time "The Avengers 3" and another Marvel superhero movie gets released. The report further noted down that hopefully answers could be given about the "Iron Man 4" film at the 2014 New York Comic Con.
