‘Just Cause 3’ map is 400-square miles and Square Enix puts island up for grabs for top player
Considered as one of the most destructive and biggest open-world games developed, “Just Cause 3” will be more expansive than its predecessors. Developer Avalanche Studios revealed bits and details of the game in the newest developer diary, the biggest of which is the announcement of the whopping 400-square mile map.
Avalanche Studios notes that the world of “Just Cause 3” contains more explosions and destruction as compared to other game. In an interview with IGN, Avalanche Studios game director Roland Lesterlin said that the map could be the biggest to date for the series. He also said that it will be consisted of several regions, which are designed to let protagonist Rico fling up to the air as quickly as possible.
The island is divided into three major regions, each with a distinct backdrop and inhabitants. The first region is described as a place of wealthy and poor towns. The second region is riddled with military bases and poor fishing towns. Finally, the last region is a heavily forested and mountainous region.
The world of “Just Cause 3” is set on the fictional island of Medici in the Mediterranean. The island is designed as a peaceful area, but it is under a tyrannous rule of General Di Ravello, the game’s main antagonist.
As part of a marketing strategy leading up to the Dec. 1 release of the game, Square Enix will be giving away an island worth $50,000 (AU $69,886.09). The island will be given to whoever is on the top of the game’s Chaos Points 90 days after release.
To join, players need only to have a secure copy of the game and an Internet connection. Players will need to rake up as many Chaos Points as possible by causing as much destruction in the game’s world by destroying cars and structures.
Square Enix has yet to reveal a specific location of the island, which the winner could get. However, it notes that the island is somewhere in the Caribbean. It also notes that there is no guarantee as to whether or not the island will be inhabitable. The island is also not guaranteed to be accessible via any other means except for a boat. The winner could also opt to get a cash prize of the same amount.
