Kanye West Apologises To Beck For His Stunt At 2015 Grammy Awards
After explaining why he almost ruined Beck’s moment at the Grammy’s and calling the award show a big "joke," Kanye West has now publicly apologised to Beck. The rapper, who recently donned the fashion designer's hat, took to Twitter to issue a simple and straightforward apology.
During the Grammy Awards 2015, Kanye almost repeated his “Taylor Swift” stunt by going onstage to ruin Beck’s moment after latter won the Album of the Year for “Morning Phase.” Now, on his Twitter feed, West has said sorry, taking everyone by surprise. “I would like to publicly apologize to Beck, I’m sorry Beck,” his tweet reads.
In his interview with Ryan Seacrest following the incident, Kim Kardashian’s husband said there were some voices in his head that were telling him to go onstage and try to get Beck’s award. According to him, he changed his mind because he did not want to destroy Beck’s moment of glory. He said he was aware that artists who go onstage to get their awards are usually given limited time to say their acceptance pieces and bask in the glory so he decided not to waste more minutes of Beck. He soon added that Grammy awards are a joke. He said that he returned to his seat and did not take Beck’s award because he was just joking anyway, just “like the Grammys themselves."
Meanwhile, Beck said he was not offended with what Kanye had planned to pull off. In an interview with US magazine, Beck said he was excited when he saw Kanye walking towards the stage. He said Kanye deserves to be onstage as much as others since he has released great records in the last five years. Also, he was not offended to know that Kanye thought that Beyonce deserved to win the award, not him. Beck said that he also thought that Beyonce should have won, since “she’s Beyonce!” He also said that it is difficult to please everyone in the industry. He, however, thinks Kanye is a genius and serves as an inspiration to him.
Meanwhile, Kanye has not only apoligised to Beck, but he has also said sorry to Bruno Mars on his Twiter feed. The singer said he used to hate Bruno but now has high respect for him as an artist. This is not the first time that Kanye has changed his opinion about an artist. In the past, he had ruined Taylor Swift’s moment at VMAs 2009, but recently it was announced that he and Taylor are collaborating on a song.
