Kate Middleton, Prince William 'Completely In Love, Says Photographer Mario Testino
There’s said to be a special reason why Mario Testino was chosen as official photographer during Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s christening, and that’s because of what he’d contributed during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement photo shoot. Through his photos, he showed the public just how much Kate Middleton and Prince William love each other.
According to Hello Magazine, it reportedly comes as no surprise that Kate Middleton and Prince William have chosen the photographer to capture their daughter’s momentous baptism. The 60-year old was the mastermind behind the beautiful engagement photos of the royal couple. Recalling the day of the photo shoot, Mario said, “You could see they were completely in love."
"I waited a long time, an hour or two, to make that picture perfect. But I wasn't totally satisfied. Then, when I'd finished the shoot, they were about to leave and they suddenly hugged in front of a radiator," he said, and described the act as one “spontaneous emotion.”
Mario Testino feels thrilled to have been chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to photograph Princess Charlotte’s christening. The Telegraph cited a Kensington Palace source who confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince William are also delighted that Testino have agreed to help capture the princess’ baptism. The source added the royal couple is looking forward to sharing the photos with the public.
Ahead of the announcement from Kensington Palace, Testino showed how grateful he is for the opportunity. He shared a black and white throwback photo of Prince Charles with his sons Prince Harry and Prince William on his Twitter page.
"I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to document this occasion and to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much,” he said.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s christening will be held on Sunday, July 5, at St Mary Magdalene Church. Royal fans wishing to catch a rare glimpse of the royal family all-together are welcome to wait outside at the church’s paddock. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked for it to be opened to the public.
