Kate Middleton Stuns In Recycled Coat Dress, Visits Crime Prevention Charity With Prince William
The "Kate Effect" has hit again! On Nov. 19, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the London offices of Only Connect, a crime prevention charity and constructive community helping prisoners, ex-offenders and those at risk of getting into difficulty to re-establish their lives. Kate Middleton rocked in an eco-friendly manner as she smartly recycled her brown dove-printed Orla Kiely coat dress, she completed the ensemble with brown tights, Aquatalia boots, and an Emmy clutch.
We have seen the gorgeous duchess wore this same elegant ensemble back in February 2012 when she visited a school in a disadvantaged area of Oxford in support of the Art Room, an organization that teaches kids self-respect and self-reliance through art. through art.
As soon as Kate was spotted donning the coat dress there was an "absolute frenzy." The wool jacquard shift dress was on sale for £162.50, down from £325, and the designer bargain sold out on-line instantly.
Apparently the Middletons like Irish designer Orla Kiely, who is renowned for her idiosyncratic prints. So much that in March 2012, Kate also donned a grey dress from Orla Kiely's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection at the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
Orla Kiely said at the time: "When Kate wears one of your designs you get a boost. The phone was ringing off the hook - email went, and one of my team counted over 800 Google alerts at that time! The only thing was, it was the end of the season so we didn't have so many of the dresses in stock. But it's a nice thing to happen."
To meet her new grandson back in July, Carole Middleton also wore an Orla Keily Spring/Summer 2012 'Dancing Girls' tea dress.
Bargain buys and recycled wardrobe selections suggest that Kate Middleton is a chic-onomic shopper with great sense of style and only once in a while blowing the budget on haute couture for red carpet appearances.
Her sartorial selections always remain sensitive and well planned, modest, classic and almost designed by a Great British fashion house. But when Kate does sagacious, she does it better than anyone else and multitude of shoppers follow her style and the "Kate effect" always remain in vogue.
