Kate Middleton's Fashion Style Inspires Future Princess Sofia Of Sweden

Sofia Hellqvist of Sweden may seem like Kate Middleton’s look-alike if her wardrobe choices were to be based. The Duchess of Cambridge’s fashion style has reportedly greatly inspired the princess that she has now taken it upon herself to follow her style.

Royal watchers have reportedly been keen on Sofia Hellqvist’s wardrobe choices since her engagement to Prince Carl Philip was announced back in October. Now a few royal fans have noticed how Sofia has taken her fashion inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge. According to Hello Magazine, Kate Middleton “has influenced and inspired Sofia's style in the run-up to her new role.”

The soon to be Princess Sofia of Sweden has reportedly echoed most of Kate’s wardrobe choices especially from one of her “best fashion moments.” Sofia has taken to choosing the similar colour palettes even down to the same designers and style choices.

The Australian Women’s Weekly noted how Sofia Hellqvist looked so much like the Duchess of Cambridge when she wore a vibrant blue dress for her engagement photoshoot. She also had her brunette hair curled in a similar way to Kate Middleton’s usual hairstyle. The publication shared a photo comparison to show the similarities between the two women.

The royal blue wrap around dress that Sofia wore reportedly shows a similarity to what Kate wore back in 2012, when she had her first official speech at the Treehouse children’s hospice.

Kate Middleton also wore a blue dress when she met the media at St. James’ Palace where her engagement to Prince William was reportedly first announced. Blue has also been the Duchess of Cambridge’s regular choice of wardrobe colour.

Hello Magazine also noted how Sofia Hellqvist has somewhat channelled most of Kate Middleton’s evening looks. “The black Diane Von Furstenburg gown that Kate sported when she attended The Royal Variety Show with Prince William in November 2014 seems to have been of particular inspiration to Sofia,” the publication stated. A photo provided a look at the similarities between the two wardrobes. The future princess of Sweden could be seen wearing a similar black jewel-encrusted dress to a dinner at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Royal watchers are said to be anticipating the choice of wedding gown Sofia Hellqvist would wear to her June 13 wedding to Prince Carl Philip. Despite the similarities to their fashion choices, per the Australian Women’s Weekly, Sofia is making a “smart decision” to take her queue from Kate Middleton since the Duchess of Cambridge is a “universally well-liked” person.
