Kendall Jenner may be the model of the moment but that doesn’t mean she’s already forgotten her steep climb to the top. Much has been said about Kendall’s ordeal before breaking into the modelling business, but she tells V Magazine that her work ethic helped her through it all.

Reports about bullying and other issues have plagued Kendall Jenner’s career ever since she decided to dive head first into the cutthroat international modelling scene. Even though she has faced criticism for coming in with a wildly famous family name, she says that her family’s popularity was not always necessarily helpful.

“You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults laughed behind my back.” Kendall recalls about the start of her career. E! News reports that Kendall found it hard to break into the business back when she was only 18.

Luckily for Kendall, designers like Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld didn’t let her reality star background get in the way of a beautiful partnership. They took a chance on her and opened up the doors to an industry that is now embracing her as their newest sweetheart.

Apart from Jacobs and Lagerfeld, Kendall has now formed close relationships with designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Diane Von Furstenberg. She has also walked runways for prestigious brands like Fendi, Chanel and Balmain.

At the start of her career, Kendall even banned her sister Kim Kardashian from coming to her shows in an attempt to step away from her sister’s shadow. Barely two years later, Kendall is casting a very large shadow of her own as her images grace multiple magazine covers and towering billboards around the world.

Just last month. Kendal’s campaign for Calvin Klein was launched and her proud mom Kris Jenner could not help but commend her baby girl. Kendall says that her parents Kris and Bruce Jenner both taught her from an early age that “work ethic is one of the most important keys in life” and she fully believes in what they said. Kendall and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan have been criticised for being famous without doing anything but they all speak about how much work they put in to be where they are at the moment.
