Killer Sony Xperia C3 at $323 Comes with 5.5-Inch Display, Frontal LED Flash, Dual-Sim, NFC and More
The brand new Sony Xperia C3, also referred as "world's best selfie smartphone," was unveiled in July. However, the Xperia C3 release date is set for August and the handset's official price is revealed in China. Apparently, China is the first market to witness the launch.
The upcoming selfie-centric Sony Xperia C3 is listed in an online retailer site named JD. Seemingly, JD is one of the major retailers in China. According to the listing, the handset is priced at 1,999 Chinese Yuan that roughly translates to US$323, AU$348 and €241, says GSM Arena.
However the price range is a literal translation of the Chinese currency. Hence there is a good chance that the actual price pertaining to various regions might vary slightly. The budget-friendly price in combination with terrific features is a killer combination. Hence the phone is expected to do well in emerging markets and other regions as well.
Key Specifications
When it comes to specifications, the Xperia C3 features a LG G3-like 5.5-inch IPS LCD display bundled with a relatively inferior 720 x 1,280 pixels HD resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. The device comes with the much-loved Triluminos display that is now synonymous with premium Sony handsets and mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. This killer combination offers improved colour and image reproduction to the mid-range Xperia C3 phone. Also, the device comes with a thickness of 0.30-inch and weights 149 g.
Under the hood, the Xperia C3 is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. The device runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS.
In specific to memory, the Xperia handset houses 8 GB of internal storage with microSD card support for expansion up to 32 GB. The device is powered by a good, non-removable 2500 mAh battery unit. The embedded battery can provide up to 25 hours of talk-time and 1000 hours of stand-by time. In addition, the phone supports NFC and dual-sim mode.
When it comes to camera specifications, the selfie-centric Xperia C3 stands out from the crowd. The device sports an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash and a surprisingly good 5 MP front-facing shooter. Unlike other smartphones, the Xperia handset features a unique frontal LED flash corroborating the moniker "world's best selfie smartphone," according to Phone Arena.
Specifically, the handset is capable of providing an 80 degree target view. In addition, selfies can be captured in two different ways:
- A "Smile Shutter" function that allows taking selfies with just a smile
- A "Tap" function that lets the user tap twice on the rear of the handset to capture the moment
In addition to black and white colours, the Xperia C3 also comes in a killer mint shade. Interested readers should check out the killer Xperia handset in all three shades from GSM Arena.
