Killer 'Sony Xperia Z4 Compact' Leaks Out: Release Date Confirmed For Summer Plus Check Out Xperia Z4 Compact vs. Xperia Z3 Compact
With the Xperia Z4 release date specific to regions outside Japan unconfirmed, a leaked document has revealed the codename of the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact. Furthermore, the release date of the mini sibling has reportedly been confirmed for summer 2015.
What Is New?
A screenshot of the leaked accessories catalogue pertaining to the spring/summer portfolio of Japan’s NTT DoCoMo shows both Xperia Z4 with code name SO-03G and a new handset dubbed “Z4 Compact” with the following code name: SO-03G. To put it in perspective, the Xperia Z3 Compact is apparently tied to the carrier code name of SO-02G and therefore, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact should ideally come with the code name SO-04G, notes Phone Arena. Furthermore, interested readers can also check out the photo of an unnamed red Xperia device in the site SMHN, along with the accessories catalogue screenshot. However, there’s no guarantee that the photo belongs to the upcoming Xperia Z4 Compact.
Xperia Z4 Compact vs. Xperia Z3 Compact
As far as the rumoured Sony Xperia Z4 Compact specifications go, GSM Arena says, the handset will reportedly come with 4.7-inch IPS LCD display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. This display combination translates to a killer pixel density of 469 ppi. In comparison, the predecessor Xperia Z3 Compact specifications include a 4.6-inch display and 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution. Plus, the usual Sony flavour of Triluminos display and X-Reality Engine will apparently be part of the upcoming mini sibling as well.
Under the hood, the Xperia Z4 Compact will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM configuration. The Xperia Z3 Compact, on the other hand, comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC and 2 GB of RAM. On the software end, the Z3 runs on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) that is upgradable to v5.0 (Lollipop), whereas the Z4 will apparently run on the Lollipop OS.
When it comes to memory specification, the successor is expected to come with 16 GB and 32 GB of storage capacity, while the predecessor comes with 16 GB of in-built storage. Plus, both the handsets support microSD card slot for further expansion. Moving on to the camera configuration, the Xperia Z4 Compact is expected to boast the same 20.7 MP seen in the Xperia Z3 Compact. However, the difference comes in the form of secondary camera, where the Z4 is expected to house a gracious 5 MP unit, while the Z3 settles for 2.2 MP shooter.
Meanwhile, the Xperia Z4 Compact’s whole configuration will reportedly be held together and powered by a killer 3,000 mAh battery unit. The Xperia Z3 Compact, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 2,600 mAh unit. Nonetheless, readers should note that, Sony has not confirmed the Xperia Z4 Compact specifications thus far.
