‘King Arthur’ Charlie Hunnam On His Weakness And Being A Bad*ss
Currently filming his upcoming movie “King Arthur,” “Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam is gearing up for his next role as King Arthur as he hangs his leather vest for good. After seven long years of playing SAMCRO’s Jax Teller, Hunnam wrapped up his biker role in December and enjoyed some quite time as talks about his bad*ss character and his weakness.
"I play a lot of tough guys and violent characters, but I'm not like that at all,” the 34-year-old star told Cosmopolitan. “I'm a hippie who smiles a lot and is pretty relaxed. I've often had an escape fantasy that I would go out into the woods by myself for a year or two and discover who I am and what life is about."
With so many project lining up for him, the Hollywood hunk takes pleasure of communing with nature and enjoying his solitude in his Californian ranch. In an interview with Men’s Health, the actor revealed that he and his long-time girlfriend Morgana McNelis bought a ranch outside Hollywood where he is starting to grow an organic garden. He even added that he got 30 chickens and a couple of ducks and donkeys.
When asked about his weakness, the “Crimson Peak” star admitted that ice cream is one of his weaknesses. His girlfriend even got him an ice-cream maker where he made double-dark chocolate with twice the amount of chocolate, gingersnap cookies and crystallized ginger and a bit of chili flake.
Meanwhile, the long-haired actor recently revealed that is was painful to say goodbye to Jax and to let go of the character he played for seven seasons. But ultimately he needs to let go of him and make room for King Arthur as Hunnam moves on to the big scree.
Playing alongside “Hulk” star Eric Bana as Uther Pendragon, the British star is set to play the man behind the magical sword Excalibur, King Arthur, in Guy Ritchie’s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.” Ritchie’s ensemble cast include “Game of Thrones” star Aidan Gillen (LIttlefinger), “Pirate of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tide” actress Astrid Bergers-Frisbey, “Annabelle” star Annabelle Wallis and Jude Law as the villainous Vortigern.
