Krishnan Guru-Murthy Slammed For 'Unprofessional' And 'Inappropriate' Interview Of 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron" Actor Robert Downey Jr.
Even though it was Robert Downey Jr. aka “Ironman” who walked out on their interview and acted snarky on the duration of the interview, many viewers believed it was interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy who was “inappropriate ”for his awkward questions and demeanor. Aside from the general viewers, Hunger Games actor Stanley Tucci also said the same.
On his appearance on Loose Women, wherein he was asked his take on Robert Downey’s walkout of the interview, Stanley said that the questions thrown at the actor were just not right for the situation. He also believed that Downey was enticed to do the interview in the premise that they will talk about the movie, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” but he was being questioned on irrelevant issues. It seemed to me like a bait and switch. He was presented... with this interview and said that you are going in to talk about a movie and then the fella suddenly took a different turn,” Tucci said.
Before Tucci spoke up, fans who were able to catch the interview took to their social media accounts to slam the Channel 4 News host as well, as reported by the Inquistr. Viewers said the interview was “unprofessional” and “awful” and they believe that the “Ironman” actor has every right to walk out.
It could be recalled that even though there were plenty of questions to ask and topics to cover that would be relevant to the current “Avengers” film, Guru-Murthy was more intent on getting personal. Instead of asking Downey, who now played “Tony Stark” for a total of seven years, questions that would be related to the franchise, the interviewer wanted to know more about Downey’s demons, relationship with his father, and his political views. It can be seen that Downey was getting agitated by the minute until he quickly stormed out. Before disappearing however, he gave a pat to the flummoxed interviewer that the whole interviewer session is starting to become too much like a “Diane Sawyer” interview. This is why some viewers dissed the interviewer and said he should remember that he is not “Oprah.”
