The 2015 flagship LG G4 release date has been confirmed for April 29 in its home country South Korea. It is worth reminding that, earlier reports pointed to a May 31 release. Apparently, the May 31 release date is an incorrect information based on misreading the translation of an LG post.

According to GSM Arena, the May 31 date will mark the end of the promotion and therefore, it is not the shipping date of the LG G4. Furthermore, interested buyers based out of South Korea can now order the handset, however, the handset can only be picked up on April 29. In the meantime, the LG G4 will be launched on April 28 at a special event scheduled in both London and New York.

As far as the key LG G4 specifications go, the handset will reportedly feature a killer 5.5-inch display complemented by a Quad HD screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. It is worth noting that, the predecessor G3 also comes with the same display configuration. Speaking of camera specification, a 16 MP rear-facing unit aided by wide f/1.8 aperture has been rumoured. Moreover, there will also be a humongous 8 MP front-facing snapper for capturing selfies, Phone Arena writes. The LG G3, meanwhile, features a 13 MP sensor with f/1.3 aperture, in addition to a 2.1 MP selfie snapper.

Moving on to the software specification, the LG G4 will reportedly run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with a brand new version of custom LG UX. In the meantime, the G3 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. To top it off, the G4 will apparently be offered as multiple variants and this includes choices like leather back and plastic cases. Plus, reports have invariably pointed to a pen called LG G4 Stylus on the upcoming device.

In the meantime, The Korea Herald says, the LG G4 will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC and not the latest Snapdragon 810 processor. An unnamed source apparently told The Korea Herald that, “The G4 would sport Qualcomm’s (slower) Snapdragon 808 chip instead of the latest Snapdragon 810, which I think might lose a selling point for LG.” But then, readers should note that, the South Korean tech giant has not officially confirmed any of the LG G4 specifications and features so far.
