Lindsay Lohan’s brief courtroom appearance on Wednesday at the LA West District Airport Superior Court is not the only issue that has made headlines following the formal felony grand theft charges hurled against her by the authorities. But her white mini-dress has also caused 'frenzy', because fashionistas wanted to try what Lindsay had donned during her arraignment over stolen necklace.

The $575-worth of tight minidress has been under the media scrutiny because many have expressed their surprise that the 24-year-old actress would face the judge in such an informal attire, calling it, a party-outfit.

Some say, according to Mark Ralston of the Agence France Press, that Lindsay’s choice of attire for the occasion reflects her absence of respect for the law.

The dress is a Kimberly Ovitz designed “Glavis Albino’ and the 1,000 pieces the designer first released in the market, have been sold out following the hearing.

Citing the report by The New York Post, the dress noted AFP, is now unavailable online and could no longer be found in retails stores. The designer said it is planning on producing more clothes to meet the public demand.

TODAYshow.com conducted a poll determining the public’s view on Lindsay’s choice of clothes and the results showed that 78 percent of the readers believe that Lohan’s outfit was not appropriate for the court hearing.

Following the hearing Wednesday evening, Lohan tweeted saying: “What I wear to court shouldn’t be front page news — it's just absurd.” On her Facebook page, she proclaimed her innocence, writing “I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal.”
