“The Maze Runner 2” is the sequel to the highly successful 2014 movie that took the viewers to a huge maze, where a group of boys had to survive together against the creatures in the maze. The upcoming movie will pick up the story right after the events of the first movie and will show the viewers what the world is really like outside the maze.

The producers of the movie shared a few images from the upcoming movie with EntertainmentWeekly. The images show few of the challenging situations that some of the characters in the movie face.

Producer Wyck Godfrey talked about how “The Maze Runner 2” was different from the first movie, in the report. The 2014 movie was mostly about the young boys trying to understand where they were and how they could get out. The upcoming movie will focus on the “repercussions of getting out,” the producer revealed.

Fans of the franchise, who have watched the first movie, will remember that the young boys, under the leadership of Thomas, discovered towards the end that a company called WCKD had put them there. A video message they see in the movie reveals that the Earth has been transformed into a mostly desert planet, after a solar flare hit.

The survivors from the first movie will encounter a new challenge by the creatures called “Cranks” in “The Maze Runner 2,” according to the report. The director Wes Ball said in the report that the creatures are not exactly “zombies,” but they do “fit into that category.” “They’re not undead, but they are rage-filled,” the director added.

One of the images in the report shows some of the characters hanging upside down. The director talked about how the characters in the movie will encounter “friends” as well as “foes” during their time in the land called the “Scorch.” The situation of the characters hanging upside down is said to be the result of their encounter with the enemies in the movie.

“The Maze Runner 2” may reveal more details about the mysterious company WCKD. The survivors will attempt to gather more information about the company in the upcoming movie.
