Microsoft To Junk Litter Apps In Windows Store In Time For Windows 10 Launch
The Windows Store is getting a lot of negative feedback about its array of cluttered, junk apps. Thankfully for Microsoft users, the company now has a plan underway to clean it up, as reported by CNET.
Bernardo Zamora, the director of the Windows Apps and Store, confirmed via a post on Windows Blog that there will be a new set of policy guidelines for app developers for the Windows platform. Each of these guidelines has been purposely designed to make the Apps Store free of inappropriate, useless apps.
The Store had reportedly started to become more open and less guarded in 2012, when the Windows 8 was introduced to the market. At the time, the company was offering new apps that were perfect for a touch screen display – ones that would work well for PCs and tablets.
However, in Microsoft’s attempt to fill the Store with a variety of apps, it neglected to filter some others, allowing entry for too many junky apps. It would seem that the main cause of this problem was that Microsoft’s policies on its apps, then, were pretty lenient. As a result of this leniency, majority of Microsoft users were oftentimes left with a bad taste in their mouth every time they went shopping for new software from the Store.
Together with the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft will also be launching a new way to overhaul the Store. Fortunately for those who have long been complaining about these junk apps, this garbage-ridding system will also be out before this summer ends.
Furthermore, the Windows 10 is Microsoft’s much awaited operating system. It offers a more unified mobile experience across all types of devices – be it a smartphone, a tablet, a phablet, a laptop, or a PC. That said, Microsoft is also reportedly going to unify its Windows Store – a clean, clutter free version – and the Windows Phone Store into a single software shopping center.
