Australians looking to buy a budget-friendly Lumia handset should look no further as there is a massive discount on the Microsoft Lumia 530. Apparently, a local retailer Big W is gearing up to sell the device at a cheap rate of $29 in Australia.

The actual Telstra Lumia 530 price in Australia used to be $79 so this deal saves $50 for any potential buyers. The device can be availed at the discounted price from April 2 onwards and this discount deal is apparently part of the Easter promotion specific to the retailer Big W. Adding a cherry on top, upon purchasing the Lumia 530, buyers will receive a coloured cover free of charge, notes WM Power User. Also, readers can check out the promo from OZ Bargain.

As far as the key Lumia 530 specifications go, the device comes with a pocket-friendly 4.0-inch TFT display carrying a WVGA resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. This translates to a modest pixel density of 245 ppi. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an inferior, quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200) processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. On the software end, the device apparently runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS, but the RAM configuration on the device is only 512 MB.

When it comes to memory specification, the Lumia 530 comes equipped with only a meagre 4 GB of internal storage capacity. Nonetheless, there is a microSD card slot for further expansion for up to 128 GB. Moving on to the camera configuration, the handset houses a 5-MP rear-facing unit with no LED flash. But then, there is no secondary unit for selfies on the phone.

With respect to device dimension, the Lumia 530 comes with a thickness of 0.46-inch and it weighs only 129 g. Lastly, the whole configuration is held together and powered by a modest Li-Ion 1,430 mAh battery unit. This battery unit is capable of providing up to 10 hours of 3G talk time, in addition to 51 hours of stand-by time.
