Microsoft Windows 10 update gives two options ‘Upgrade now’ or ‘Upgrade tonight'
Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS is apparently powering a grand total of 110 million devices worldwide, according to the status reported in October. This number is steadily increasing among the users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. It however looks like that the tech giant is not happy with the pace and hence, the new update leaves Windows users with little to no choice to install the OS.
Windows users with older OS versions running on their device will be familiar with the feature called “Get Windows 10.” This feature is aimed at making the users upgrade to the new OS at their convenience. The dialog box of this feature pops up time and again to remind users that they can download and install the update anytime. A recent update to this dialog box gives only two pushy options to choose from.
According to Info World, the “Get Windows 10” feature has a subsection called “Upgrade to Windows 10” that says "Upgrade now" or "Upgrade tonight.” There is no other button or a note to direct the users, in case, they cannot install the update immediately.
In this situation, tech geeks would immediately click the close button, depicted as “X,” and move on. But the uninitiated are reportedly finding it hard to predict the consequence of clicking the close button. The question in their minds is: By closing the dialog box, will we be able to upgrade to Windows 10 later, or have we lost the one chance to upgrade to the new OS for free?
It is worth noting that, until recently, Microsoft used to give the following two choices to the users requesting them to upgrade to the Windows 10: “Upgrade now” or “Start download, upgrade later.” The aforementioned choices were ver clear as they said that the users can postpone their installation. The current update, on the other hand, is evidently very pushy.
