This week is populated with movie franchises of Minecraft mods, something that you can do instead of going on a movie marathon for the weekend.

It's time to relive the adventure and sights of these movies in your own Minecraft world, and the updates and features for the Minecraft 1.6.2 versions of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit mod, Spider Man mod, and AssassinCraft Mod will get you going throughout the weekend.

Lord of the Rings: Awaken Dreams Mod

There are a lot to be said for the new Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit mod, and 9Minecraft.net details all the new things that you can expect from the mod.

Aside from turning your Minecraft world into something that resemble the Middle Earth where the heroes of the film had explored, you also have new textures, new food, new biomes, new blocks, new mobs, new animals, new plants, and new weapons.

The new weapons are interesting to point out, as there both a whole lineup of new weapons as well as new abilities to use these weapons. New goblins and orcs will also be in the mod, this time the goblins and Gollum gaining the ability to crawl on walls.

You can also enjoy some Lord of the Ring music to set the mood, and enjoy special LOTR stuff and in-game gamble games.

Download and install the mod following these steps courtesy of 9Minecraft.net:

1. Download and install the Minecraft Forge

2. Download the AwakenDreams.zip.

3. Copy the mod.zip inside the resulting ADModInstaller into your .minecraft or mods folder.

4. Copy the sound resources folder into the ./minecraft/resources/mod/.

5. For those who have already installed the mod, delete the existing AwakenDreams.cfg, or ignore this step if this is the first time that you are installing this mod.

6. Open the new minecraft launcher and find the option forge under the profile dropdown menu. Select the option and press play to launch the mod.

AssassinCraft Mod

Technically, the Assassin's Creed movie is not yet in production, but the good thing is that Ubisoft has already confirmed that there will be a movie slated to come in 2015.

For this week's Movie Minecraft Mod, the new AssasinCraft Mod fits the bill, letting you experience all the fun and stealth in Assassin's Creed while in your own Minecraft world.

What is great about this mod is that you get to experience everything you love to do with vanilla Minecraft, but enhance it with the trademark of Assassin's Creed, which is pretty much parkour, stealth, and weapons,

According to MinecraftDL, the mod lets spawning inside the world, as well as crafting the Animus to generate buildings, guards, and terrains. Another great set of features that you will be able to encounter are the weapons, which include the Tomahawk, Apple of Eden, Hidden Blade, Hidden Gun, Hookblade, Rifle, and Altair's sword.

Lastly, you will be encountering mobs that have individual items depending on who their character is. Some of the mobs can be assassins, blacksmiths, citizens, generals, doctors, thieves, and even wolves, and horses.

Here are the steps to download the AssassinCraft Mod for Minecraft 1.6.2, as outlined by MinecraftDL:

1. Download and install the Minecraft Forge and Player API Render mod for Minecraft 1.6.2.

2. You also have to download the AssassinCraft mod here.

3. Go to %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/bin and open your minecraft.jar with WINRAR.

4. Copy all the files in the folder into your own minecraft.jar.

5. Copy the content from Into Resources folder, then put the Put In Minecraft into the .minecraft folder.

Spider Man Mod

Now you can be your favorite friendly neighborhood Spidey--or at least have his capabilities--with the Spider Man Mod.

Featured in 9Minecraft.net, the mod allows you a variety of abilities, including doing double super high jumps, clinging to any wall, sticking to the ceilings when in contact, trapping enemies with explosive WEB shots (just press Z), and avoiding fall damage.

To install the mod, just follow these steps:

1. Download and install the Minecraft Forge and download the .ip mod file.

2. Place the zip file into the other mods folder in your .minecraft.

3. You can use the config file in the /config folder if you encounter any clashes with other mods.
