It's going to be a zombies and creepers weekend as you get a load of these three new Minecraft Mods that are either adaptations of two of the most popular zombie franchises to date--Plants vs. Zombies and The Walking Dead--as well as an update for the Creeper.

Check out these three mods, which you can explore during the weekend. Be sure to get those weapons and attacks ready for when they come your way!

Plants vs. Zombies Mod

In light of the Plants vs. Zombies 2 craze that is currently taking over Australia and New Zealand--while the rest of the world waits for its turn come later this summer--a great way to enjoy the game is via MInecraft style.

According to the mod creator's note at Minecraft Forum, while the 1.6.2 compatible version of the Plants vs. Zombies Minecraft mod may be similar to a previous one made by jmayoman, the difference with this mod is that it makes use of the plants from the Plant-iverse for your defense.

Some of the plants that you are likely to encounter in this mod are very reminiscent of the actual PopCap game, led by the Sunflower, Pea Shooter, Snow Pea, Repeater, and Three-Peater.

Pretty much having the same concept as Plants vs. Zombies where you will have to defend your home from the undead with the use of the plants, the additional job for the Minecraft version includes getting chlorophyll, endowed grass, and crafting a box of seeds.

To install this mod, you just need to install the Mincraft Forge. Go to the mods folder in the minecraft or .minecraft folder. The .zip file that you can download here should be placed the said folder.

The Walking Dead Mod

Based on the AMC TV series, The Walking Dead mod brings a lot more power to the zombies to amplify the adventure aspect of the mod.

From 9Minecraft.net, the Walking Dead mod fires up your zombies so that they will attack not just you but also your chickens and pigs.

They also have the ability to spawn, and they cannot burn and be defeated by the sunlight.

As per the developer crackedEgg, "There are options in the config file to allow or disallow spawning of zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, slime, and endermen."

For some of the community users, the main thing that came as a disappointment for this mod involves the lack of guns and weapons. Considering the level up in power and abilities of the zombies, it's understandable that players would want some faster and more efficient way to attack the zombies.

However, there have been suggestions that the mod can go in tandem with the Ferullos Mod, SDK Gun Mod, or even the Flans Mod, so that you can get your weapon arsenal.

To download this mod, you just have to install the Minecraft Forge and download the Walking Dead mod. Copy the mod jar files to the mods directory and into your own minecraft directory. Run the game and enjoy.

Here's the link to the different versions, applying for both the 1.6.2 and the 1.5.2.

Another mod to consider that has a similar flavor to The Walking Dead mod is the Crafting Dead mod. Here's a video of the gameplay to see which one is better.

Griefer Creepers Mod

From zombies, you go to the monsters in Minecraft, the Creepers. In this new mod, titled Griefers Creepers, the Creepers will no longer blow up, though it will not drop is suicide-style attack.

The mod is designed to change the attack method of the creepers, so this time, you should expect 100 arrows, a mix of fire arrows and explosive arrows, to launch into the air.

To get the Griefer Creepers mod, simply follow the steps as outlined in 9Minecraft.net:

- Run the most recent launcher and download the 1.6.1 update.

- Go to %appdata%/.minecraft/versions

- Copy the directory labeled 1.6.1 and paste it as 1.6.1ML to make two copies. An important note here is to make sure that the naming matches all throughout.

- Enter the new directory where you have to rename the jar and json files to match the copies.

- Open the json file in the Notepad and change the name from 1.6.1 to 1.6.1ML

- Those who are using windows should then proceed to the %appdata% and go to .minecraft/bin
