'Minecraft' Snapshot 14w18a Released with Changes and 'BioShock Infinite' Recreated in 'Minecraft'
Mojang has finally released another "Minecraft" snapshot 14w18a, shortly following the 14w17a. This time, there are only three notable chances. The Pistons can now interact with Slime Blocks in "cooler ways" and the game has achieved sentience. The third change, however, is mostly bug fixes, but it comes with a very long list of these.
Some of the bug fixes include the following:
- Creepers float one-eighth of a block above the ground
- Torch not placeable on stained glass
- When only a Spectator stays near mobs, they don't despawn
- The bottom texture of non-full blocks is flipped vertically
- When you kill invisible horse variants, the screen will turn red/black
- It is possible to change the missing block model
- Pick block on hydrated farmland gives dirt block with invalid data value (missing texture)
- Burning Furnace (block 62) Has Wrong Inventory Image
- Vines orienting improperly in inside corners
- Rails render from below, but not correctly
- Lapis-Lazuli Ore Pick Block
- Any stone slabs on top of one another creates a double stone block
- Respawn button does not work if spawn points is outside of the world border
These are just some of the bug fixes, but those interested can check out the complete list over at Mojang's official Web site.
To get the snapshots, gamers need to open the launcher and select "New Profile." Call it "snapshots" and then check the box that states "Enable experimental development snapshots" before saving their progress.
The developers also caution gamers that the snapshots can corrupt words, so gamers best back up their files always or run the snapshots in a different folder from their main worlds. As always, the developers are looking for bugs, so those who can find any can report them here.
A 'BioShock Infinite' replica for 'Minecraft'
Many replicas and worlds have been showcased over at "Minecraft." From the world of "Pokemon" at the height of the "Pokemon X and Y" mania last year, the depths of a well-received manga and Japanese animation, to even the "Minecraftified" versions of games like "Titanfall" in mods like Ironfall.
VG 24/7 has spotted a new creation in "Minecraft," this time being the very detailed Columbia of "BioShock Infinite." Notice the detail in the structures, the Zeppelins, the air balloons, the Ferris wheel and even the propellers at the bottom of the floating city.

The Voxel Box is responsible for the creation. Gamers can check out the different snapshots of the floating city, which serve as a close-up and range shot of the structure, in this Imgur link.
Or, those interested in checking out the city for themselves can see the video above, or download the pack via this link.
YouTube user and creator Michael Hill states this Columbia is still a work in progress, with approximately 50% of the details included, so gamers may notice some missing features like the Angel Statue.
