'Minecraft' Texture Pack Glimpse and Updated 13w39a Snapshot, Community Creation of the Week

Mojang has uploaded a new snapshot, dubbed Snapshot 13w39a.

Docm77 of YouTube created a video detailing what can be found in the snapshot. The video shows some exploration scenes, where you can see mostly a white world. The video creators demonstrate how to instigate mob spawning in the world.

In essence, the creators also showcase and explain the LC level in the world and how it affects the mob spawning.

"LC means 'chunks loaded vertically.' Why was there no mob spawning? The world around us has a floor height of y = 64 on foot level. The LC value is 43. That means, the game checks up to a height of 63 blocks if there is an air block next to a solid block to spawn a mob in. as everything is filled in, nothing spawns," said docm77.

To instigate the spawning, you need to place a block to increase LC up to 79, to ensure that the range is the same as that of the LC.

Some new additions to expect would be command block minecarts, new handling for air blocks and a new block, the Red Sand. Download the Snapshot 13w39a here.

Details for Texture Packs

The texture packs have been taking a long while in coming, but 4J Studios gave a quick glimpse of what the first one looks like. When you check out the developer's official Twitter page, the header displays a look at the TP, as spotted by one of the fans.

"Yes, our new Twitter header is showing the Plastic Texture Pack," said 4J Studios confirmed over Twitter.

In addition, mob textures will also be changed in the plastic texture pack. What's more, 4J Studios has good news for those who want to see more than just one screenshot.

"We'll release some screenshots on Friday, and there will be a trial version of the texture pack," the company tweeted.

Community Creations: 'Knights of Kingdomia'

Good multi-player games in "Minecraft" are a dime a dozen, but "Knights of Kingdomia" managed to land the title of Community Creation. This may be due to the enjoyable capture the flag experience that you can have in the game.

According to the "Minecraft" forum, this is a game mode in Vanilla Minecraft, which delivers a unique multi-player experience.

This multi-player lets two to 14 people play the game that features constructed maps. Players are tasked with conquering the rival's castle, but there are also other things to do in order to get team currency points.

It's worth trying this out because the points can come in 14 types, including stone, wood, diamonds, and gold, and will allow you to use them as a sort of currency to buy weapons and food.

You don't need mods or texture packs, and you can access 350 command blocks on each map, as well as the Redstone Workshop's unique Virtual Resource System.
