‘Mortal Kombat X’: Erron Black Leaked And Achievements Revealed, Ermac's Fatality Is The Most Brutal Yet
Despite developer NetherRealm’s attempts to patiently drip-feed gamers new character reveals via official channels, another “MKX” character has been leaked. Gunslinger Erron Black, one of Kotal Kahn’s deadliest warriors, has been spotted in action, performing his fatality, no less. The same leak has also detailed the game’s achievements list, and a new video showing off Ermac’s absolutely brutal fatality has emerged.
As previously reported, Erron Black was first seen in issue four of the “Mortal Kombat X” companion comic published by DC Comics. Black comes armed with a pair of bronze six-gun shooters, clad in appropriately Clint Eastwood-esque attire. The leaked screenshot was first posted on the Test Your Might forums, confirming long-running rumours that he would indeed be a playable character.
Gamespot notes that the screenshot clearly shows Erron Black performing his fatality -- a point-blank gunshot to his victim's head. The screenshots also show Jax, Goro, Shinnok and Baraka in action, although it isn’t entirely clear whether the latter is in fact playable.
One character who’s very much playable is the telekinetic ninja Ermac, whose gory fatality has been revealed. A video posted on the KommunityFinishHim YouTube channel shows Ermac defeating Sub-Zero before hoisting him into the air. Using his telekinetic powers, Ermac twists the Lin Kue ninja’s body grotesquely before slowly pulling his intestines out via his mouth.
Speaking to PlayStation Lifestyle, senior producer of NetherRealm Studios Adam Urbano explained how the team came up with the game’s fatalities. Urbano said that everyone on the team takes part in the submission process, and NetherRealm boss Ed Boon makes the final decision on which ones get added.
“They all sort of get filtered through the team, Ed looks at all of them and there’s a discussion. This one is incredible, this one crosses a line, this one is too funny and somehow with a sprinkle of magic the ultimate ones get picked,” he said.
Sub-Zero seems to be having an especially bad day, as a video hosted on GamesHQMedia showing off Johnny Cage’s three fighting variations sees him on the end of another brutal beating. Cage’s variations include Fisticuffs, Stunt Double and A-List. Elsewhere, a full list of the game’s 60 achievements, totalling 1,000 points, has been posted on Xbox Achievements.
