The rules for the “Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire” and “Pokemon X and Y” Special Battle Season 9 have been revealed. The latest season will run for two months, from March 17 to May 15, and all four games will run the battle.

Trusted Pokemon source Serebii has revealed that the ninth season will follow standard league rules for the game sets. The battle type will be Single Battles, where native Generation 6 Pokemon in “Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire” and transferred Pokemon in “Pokemon X and Y” are allowed.

Any Pokemon from the National Pokedex can be used. The only ones that are restricted include Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, Deoxys, Dialga, Diancie, Genesect, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-Oh, Jirachi, Keldeo, Kyogre, Kyurem, Lugia, Manaphy, Meloetta, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Phione, Rayquaza, Reshiram, Shaymin, Victini, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zekrom and Zygarde. All of the Pokemon will need to be at Level 50, so any Pokemon beyond that level will be downgraded. As per the usual rules, no two Pokemon can hold the same hold item.

All of the battles of the Special Battle Season 9 will only last for 10 minutes. Selection of Pokemon will last up to 30 seconds while Turn selection takes 15 seconds.

Players of the “Pokemon Shuffle” can expect more from the free-to-play title as it has recently received a new update 1.1.2. What this means for players is the addition of Kyogre from “Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.”

According to Nintendo Life, the Kyogre challenge will be available until March 23. It will also yield a Jewel for those who will be playing it for the first time. Completion will allow players to cash in 1,000 coins, but to accomplish the challenge, it will require an upgraded Poke Ball, which costs 2,500 coins.

There is still no word from the developer on what the seventh generation title will be released for Pokemon this year. However, as far as the awaited Hoopa movie goes, a new trailer has been released.

Siliconera has spotted the new trailer, which features a number of legendary Pokemon alongside Hoopa. What starts off with Hoopa showing off some comic moves becomes a tad serious once legendary Pokemon appear in search of destruction. But Hoopa is able to summon other legendaries using its rings, which then result into an all-out battle among the legendaries.

The Hoopa does appear to have play a major role in the movie. While the trailer shows the mischievous-looking version, the dark aura that envelops the Hoopa may hint at the appearance of Hoopa Unbound. Check out the trailer embedded below.
