It is worth noting that the company OnePlus has got rid of the complicated invitation-only model and moved on to pre-order system. And this purchase model will be effective starting October.
Display, Exterior And Size
The Moto X 2014 features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. When it comes to the exterior, the Moto X 2014 looks very much similar to the predecessor Moto X 2013, excluding the size difference. In spite of the fact that Moto X's body shape is identical to its predecessor; the aluminium frame has taken over the plastic frame making it a premium-looking smartphone. Also, the front and the back panels can be disintegrated and customized with the help of Motorola Moto Maker site, similar to other Moto devices. Furthermore, the Motorola logo is quite larger and it is enveloped in a metallic ring design, reports Android Origin. The OnePlus One, on the other hand, comes with a unique magnesium exterior offering a premium-looking, matte-effect laden rear. In addition, the device's back panel is alterable with a choice of bamboo, kevlar and denim panels.
Speaking of size, the thickness and the weight of the Moto X 2014 are 0.39-inch and 144 g respectively, whereas the OnePlus One is 0.35-inch thick and weighs 162 g.

Interestingly, both the devices are powered by the same quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz. While the Moto X is backed by a 2 GB of RAM, the OnePlus One comes with a whopping 3 GB of RAM.
Also, the OnePlus One runs on the unique combination of Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS with CyanogenMod 11S UI, while the Moto X runs on Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS, which is upgradable to Android L (5.0). As far as the memory goes, the Moto X 2014 offers 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage, while the OnePlus One comes with 16 GB and 64 GB of in-built storage capacities. Nevertheless, both the devices do not support microSD card.
Camera And Battery
Both the devices sport the same 13 MP primary camera unit with dual-LED flash. In addition, the OnePlus One features a good 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies, while the Moto X houses a 2 MP shooter. Also, the OnePlus device is backed by a killer Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery, while the 2014 Moto X comes packed with a much inferior Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery unit.
