In 2014, Motorola had launched several high-end smarpthones such as the Moto X (Gen 2) 2014, the Motorola Droid Turbo and the Motorola Nexus 6. Motorola is yet to make any announcement on the successor models for aforementioned devices. However, STJS Gadgets has published the rumoured specs of the Moto X (Gen 3) that will release later this year.

Moto X (Gen 3) Release Date

According to the International Business Times report from March 27, Rick Osterloh, the President of Motorola went on Twitter to proclaim that the Moto X 2015 would arrive in the same time frame like the Moto X released in the previous year.

The first edition of Moto X was revealed to the world in August 2013. The Moto X (Gen 2) was unleashed in the following year in September. The Moto X (Gen 3) release date is expected to happen in August or September this year. The Galaxy Note 5, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are also rumored to release in September 2015.

Moto X (Gen 3) Specs

Though Motorola’s President did not make any announcement on the technical specifications of the Moto X (Gen 3), the rumour mill has already started talking about it. According to STJS Gadgets, the Moto X 2015 will arrive with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with support for Quad HD resolution. Instead of the Snapdragon 810 that can be found in various flagship devices like the HTC One M9, LG G Flex 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, it is expected to come with Snapdragon 808 featuring a hexa-core processor. It is the very same chip that powers up of the recently announced LG G4. It will be featuring 4 GB of RAM.

The Moto X 2015 will be available in two storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB. The rear will be featuring a 16 MP Clear Pixel shooter and on the front, it will be housing a 5 MP camera. The device will come preloaded with android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. Lastly, it will be equipped with a huge 3280 mAh battery.
