Motorola Droid RAZR was officially available in United Kingdom since Thursday. However, buyers may not be able to get it from their service providers as four out of five networks are not offering the handset.

O2 is the only network where you can get your hands on the latest mobile phone from Motorola. However, users can still purchase the mobile device from retailers offering different price plans with the network service provided by Vodafone and Orange.

O2, on the other hand, confirmed that they will include the new Motorola Droid RAZR in their lineup of new devices. However, the company did not specify a date as to when the device will be available in the stores. However, other UK networks Three, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange will not offer the device in its product lineup.

T-Mobile's spokesman said that the company will not offer the Motorola Droid RAZR and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. However, he said that the company is still offering a number of other devices to their consumers such as HTC Sensation SE, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the iPhone 4S of Apple. T-Mobile sister company Orange will also not offer the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which was also launched last Thursday.

This decision of the networks will affect the Motorola's plan to boost its smartphone business. A mobile analyst Carolina Milanesi said the current market share of the company is weak and with the recent developments, this will not be alleviated. The analyst also came into the defense of the networks saying that they are playing safe and chose handsets that have strong market share for the coming holiday season.

One of the main competitors of the Motorola Droid RAZR is the Samsung-Google Galaxy Nexus, which runs on the latest Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS. The Droid RAZR, on the other hand, will be equipped with the previous Android OS Gingerbread. However, the mobile operating system will be updated in 2012.

The new Motorola Droid RAZR is packed with exciting features. The Droid RAZR measures only 7.1 mm and is the thinnest in the market. Aside from being thin, the device is also lightweight. The new Droid RAZR has a Super AMOLED Advanced qHD screen. Motorola claims that the Droid RAZR will be the first smartphone to support Netflix in HD. The new Droid RAZR is also equipped with 8-megapixel camera similar to an iPhone 4S,.

In recent years, Motorola has been unable to produce a phone that matches the popularity of the original RAZR clamshell phones. Motorola though will undergo new ownership next year. The search giant has signed a deal to buy Motorola for $12.5 billion.
