Motorola-made Nexus 6 smartphone pulled from Google Store
The Nexus 6P has been facing a horde of hardware and software issues
The Motorola-made Nexus 6 smartphone launched in October 2014 alongside the Nexus 9 tablet has been yanked from Google Store.
Google Store has removed the Nexus 6 listing from its page but customers can still receive the access via a direct link. On top of the page, it shows "The Nexus 6 is no longer available for purchase". Several e-commerce websites, however, are still selling the smartphone via third parties.
Google launched the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, successors to the Nexus 6 and Nexus 5, this October. The new devices run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sport hardware features such as USB Type-C ports and the Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor.
Lately, however, the Nexus 6P has been facing a horde of hardware and software issues. Last month, it was alleged the smartphone is prone to bending.
Some early buyers even claimed the glass covering the rear camera of the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X snaps without applying any pressure. To corroborate this, users even posted pictures of the crushed glass panel, alleging it happened as soon as they placed the handset on its back on any surface. The reason behind the cracking hasn’t been revealed.
Furthermore, there’s been news the Nexus 6P is facing voice quality issues and the LG-made Google Nexus 5X is also facing issues with touchscreen responsiveness during charging.
