The Google Nexus 6 was officially released and is almost similar to the Moto X 2014. Both devices are manufactured by Motorola. Since both the devices are almost similar it is aptly pitted against each other. Before deciding placing an order for the Motorola Nexus 6 let us take a look at how it compares with the Motorola Moto X 2014.

Display and Screen

The Nexus 6 has a 5.96-inch Quad HD display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels and a pixel density of 493 pixels per inch, while the Moto X 2014, has a 5.2-inch AMOLED display 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at a density of 423 pixels per inch. When compared with each other the Nexus 6 has a larger screen size delivering more pixel density making the display very clear.

Processor and RAM

The processor inside the Nexus 6 is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.7 GHz, with 3 GB of RAM and an Adreno 420 GPU. The Moto X 2014 has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Both handsets being in the 800 range are very capable.

Operating System

The Moto X 2014 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and the Nexus to runs on the Android 5.0 L. Motorola made an official announcement that the Moto X 2014 will get the Android 5.0 update in the near future.

Camera

Both devices come with 13 MP rear cameras and 2 MP front cameras. The Moto X camera is a dual LED Ring Flash, HDR, UHD 4K video capture and 4x digital zoom.

Battery

Moto X is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery but the Nexus 6 sports a bigger screen which demands more power. The 3,220 mAh battery gives it the power so the screen does not drain the battery. Both devices have Motorola's fast charging technology, which can deliver up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

Price

The Nexus 6 is priced at $649.99 off contract and the Moto X (2 gen) is priced at $99 on a 2 year contract.

Both the devices are the same except for some minor changes. The Nexus 6 is bigger has a very good display faster processor and the RAM too has more gigabytes. It has a bigger battery but the large screen will need that extra power.

If the Moto X is appealing but lacks the bigger display then opting for the Nexus 6 would be good. But if a smaller display is satisfying then the Moto X could be quite a bargain.
