'My Whole Life Has Been Getting Me Ready For This,' Bruce Jenner Tells Diane Sawyer In The Promos Of His Interview [WATCH VIDEO]
Bruce Jenner's life has always been under heavy media scrutiny but the latest mystery surrounding his gender transition is making everyone more interested in him. The former Olympian will appear in a two-hour special interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC and the network is promoting the much-hyped show in full form. The latest promo released by ABC shows Jenner talking about what he has been wanting to do his “whole life.” Check out the video below.
"My whole life has been getting me ready for this," the 65-year-old is heard telling the host Sawyer during the interview, which will reportedly reveal the truth about his decision to transition into a woman. However, the father to Kendall and Kylie Jenner has not released any statement regarding his gender transition so far. Neither the former Olympian, nor the members of his family, have ever talked about if Jenner is changing into a woman or not.
Various speculations regarding his gender change emerged in media when Jenner was spotted with painted and French manicured nails on various occasions. He also grew his hair longer and various websites posted pictures of Jenner with few feminine features; such as thin eyebrows and well-defined lips. Pictures of Jenner's chest, which is rumoured to be surgically enhanced, were also posted on various websites sometime back. Jenner did not confirm that he had undergone any surgery to change his features.
However, the Kardashian-Jenner family has been mum about the whole issue. In her previous interview with a television network, Kim Kardashian refused to divulge anything about her dad's rumoured gender transition. The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star said that she would rather let her step-dad talk about his life.
"Bruce's primary goal is to bring awareness to this issue in order to help others in the transgender community," a source close to the Kardashian-Jenner family is quoted as saying to People magazine. Jenner reportedly wants to bring awareness about the issue of gender transition and wants to be “taken seriously,” the source said further. The reality star wants that his situation should have “the most positive impact on society's perception of the transgender community," added the source to People.
The ABC promo has got a huge response from people on social media. Many critics commenting on the You Tube page of the video are saying that Jenner's words in the clip below do not indicate that he is turning into a woman. Few people have also written that they will not believe the news of Jenner turning into a woman is true unless they hear it from him. “Bruce Jenner – The Interview” airs on ABC on Friday, April 24, at 9 p.m. ET.
