‘Neighbours’ stars Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbuglia reunite at Rugby World Cup
Kylie Minogue recently took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and Natalie Imbruglia. The two Australian singer-actresses were holding an Australian flag in the picture.
“Two little Aussies! #worldcup” Minogue captioned the photo, which she posted on Monday. The two were wearing the Australian colours, green and gold, in the photo as they celebrate the Wallabies’ recent win over Scotland at the Rugby World Cup finals in London.
It was a reunion for Minogue and Imbruglia who both starred in “Neighbours” two decades ago. The two have been close friends after appearing in the Australian soap opera, which was created by Reg Watson.
After playing Beth Brennan in “Neighbours” from 1992 to 1994, Imbruglia starred in several films including “Johnny English,” “Closed for Winter,” “Underdogs” and “Among Ravens.” More recently, she was cast in the family film “Little Loopers,” which starred Beatrix Barish, Gregg Bello and Doug Bilitch.
Imbruglia released her fifth studio album, “Male,” on July 13, almost six years after the release of her fourth studio album, “Come to Life,” in 2014. Divorced from Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns in 2008, the “Torn” singer was recently spotted with David Walliams, who was divorced from supermodel Lara Stone in 2014, according to Mirror.
Meanwhile, Minogue is set to star in “A Christmas Star,” which will hit theatres in the United Kingdom on Nov. 13. The family movie also stars Rob James-Collier, Suranne Jones, Bronagh Waugh, Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson, among others.
On the same day, Nov. 13, Minogue’s upcoming album, “Kylie Christmas,” will also be released. It is her 13th album, and it will feature cover versions of Christmas songs.
In 2016, Minogue will appear in “Galavant” Season 2 as a guest star. The fairy tale-themed musical comedy TV series features her boyfriend, Joshua Sasse, as the title character, a dashing knight hero who is on a mission to reclaim his reputation.
