New details roll out for ‘Far Cry Primal’ from Ubisoft, Elias Toufexis to voice main character
“Deus Ex: Human Revolution” fans have something to look forward to in Ubisoft’s recently confirmed “Far Cry Primal.” Elias Toufexis, known as protagonist Adam Jensen in “Deus Ex,” will take on the main character role in “Far Cry Primal.”
Toufexis announced his involvement with the upcoming Ubisoft game on his Twitter account saying. He revealed that he will be playing the lead character in the title. While the actor is popularly known for lending his voice to the ‘Deus-Ex’ titles, he has also been a part of other heavy contenders like “Assassin’s Creed Unity’’ and “Splinter Cell: Blacklist,” reported IGN. He will also be voicing Square Enix’s upcoming title “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.”
"Far Cry Primal" revolves around the Stone Age around 10,000 BC, a time when mankind was not the king of the foodchain. The main character of the game, Takkar, is a hunter and also the last surviving member of his hunting group who made it alive from an ambush. Players arrive in an untamed land called Oros with survival being the prime facet of the game.
“Far Cry Primal,” like the rest of the “Far Cry” series, follows the massive open-world system that allows the player to travel through a variety of landscapes in the shoes of Takkar. The landscapes vary from swamps to redwood cedar forests, as reported in the UbiBlog.
Takkar possesses an extensive set of survival skills. Players will be able to craft tools and weapons from the slayed beast’s bones and resources from the wild. This skill is important, both for the safety against predators and the safety in his tribe.
Fire also plays an important role in the game for this iteration. It can be used for protection as well as an additional tactical option for assaulting beasts or infiltrating enemy territories.
“Far Cry Primal” revolves around the Stone Age and, through Takkar, the players are shown how humans have worked their way up in the food chain. Changing the course of nature was not easy. It came with conflicts, not only with the animal kingdom but also with other humans and nature itself.
“Far Cry Primal” is scheduled to release on Feb. 23, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The PC version will be available a little later on March 2016.
