Both variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone outperformed the Apple iPhone 6s Plus on Geekbench, the popular cross platform processor benchmark.

The Galaxy S7 comes in two variants: one powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC and the other by Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 chipset. The iPhone 6s Plus packs the Apple A9 chipset.

SamMobile said a Chinese tipster posted the Geekbench scores on Weibo. The results show the Samsung Galaxy S7 scoring 2,456 points in the single-core performance test, whereas the multi-core test score shows 5,423 points, both of which indicate impressive performance. The Snapdragon 820 utilizes four Kryo CPU cores with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz while the remaining cores are clocked at 1.6-1.7GHz.
